West Virginia Wilderness Campaigns

West Virginia has 1,021,921 acres of National Forests. The last wilderness areas designated in West Virginia were in the Omnibus Law signed by President Obama in March 2009: Big Draft, Cranberry Additions, Dolly Sods Additions, Otter Creek Additions, Roaring Plains West, and Spice Run

Campaigns

Monongahela National Forest

The Monongahela Conservation Legacy Act will designate 6,042 acres of wilderness in the North Fork Mountain area of the National Forest.

A hearing was held in the House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests and Public Lands on September 16, 2010.
