The Pitcairn Islands in the southern Pacific Ocean may be small and remote, but their surrounding waters are massive and home to an incredibly diverse and healthy marine ecosystem. After a trip to Pitcairn in March 2011, Global Ocean Legacy staff members are working with the Island Council on the idea of a large marine reserve somewhere within Pitcairn’s waters.
