A group of 94 concerned scientists sent the following letter to the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASFMC) regarding the management of Atlantic menhaden. The group urges the ASFMC to finalize the first ever coast-wide management system for Atlantic menhaden, including a science-based annual catch quota and measures to monitor the catch and close the fishery when the annual quota is reached.
