The OceanElders and many others have been working hard at Rio+20 to make sure our leaders introduce laws to protect the oceans. One such example is the new campaign to save the Arctic.
Another is our efforts to help protect the Coral Sea. We (with many others) lobbied the Prime Minister of Australia to protect the Sea and conserve its incredible marine life that is found nowhere else in the world.
Working with environmental groups such as the Pew Environment Group to pull off this massive marine reserve really is wonderful. Many thanks to the Australian Government for listening and acting. This could well be their greatest legacy. Now may more Governments follow suit.
