The Kermadec Islands aren't a household name, which is probably how they retain their status as one of the world's most pristine environments. Last May, in a bid to encourage protection of the region, the Pew Environment Group funded a trip to the remote islands, which lie about 900 km north-east of New Zealand, for nine visual artists.
