Accelerating clean energy solutions that improve the economy, national security and the environment.
In the global race to secure private clean energy finance and investment, the United States reclaimed the top spot in 2011 after trailing China for two years, according to new research published by The Pew Charitable Trusts about clean energy financing in Group of Twenty (G-20) nations.
However, America will be hard-pressed to sustain last year’s success. Because of the expiration of Treasury grants and the Department of Energy’s loan guarantee programs, and the upcoming expiration of the production tax credit, America’s clean energy sector faces an uncertain policy future. Businesses are hesitant to plan future U.S. clean energy projects, American manufacturing orders have dropped, and layoffs have already started. You can help. Urge Congress to extend the production tax credit.
