Geoffrey Brown joined The Pew Charitable Trusts in 2008. As a senior officer of government relations, he works with congressional staff to develop stronger climate and environmental policy.
Before joining Pew, Brown was legislative director for the National Environmental Trust. Previously, he worked in the U.S. Senate for 10 years on a range of environment, energy and economic development issues. He was senior policy adviser for the Environment and Public Works Committee and senior legislative assistant to Sen. Jim Jeffords of Vermont. He was also legislative director of the Northeast-Midwest Senate Coalition for Jeffords and Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan of New York. He began his career as a reporter in New York and Washington for the Journal of Commerce.
Brown holds a bachelor’s degree in American studies from Yale University and a master’s degree in resource policy and behavior from the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources.
